Automations Automatically Stop and Notify Admins on Permission Errors

Bullhorn Automation now automatically stops and alerts admins when a step repeatedly fails due to a permissions issue, rather than running silently.

What's New?

When an automation step encounters a permissions-related error that repeats above the failure threshold, the automation stops automatically. An Automation Stopped by System banner displays on the automation with the specific Bullhorn error details, not a generic message. Admin users simultaneously receive an email notification titled Action Required: Automation Stopped Due to Entitlement Error containing the relevant error information.

Why Does It Matter?

Permission-related failures no longer quietly drain automation runs or leave records unprocessed without explanation. Admins get immediate, actionable visibility the moment something needs attention. With enough detail to pinpoint and fix the issue fast, it keeps automations healthy and running smoothly.

How do I enable this?

This behavior is automatic. No configuration needed. To resume an automation after resolving the underlying permission issue in Bullhorn, click Turn On Automation. The banner will clear and the automation will return to Active status.
